GST collections rise 6.2% YoY to ₹1.85 lakh crore in June

Gross Goods and Services Tax (GST) collections rose 6.2% year-on-year in June to over ₹1.84 lakh crore, according to data released by the government on Tuesday.

This compares to ₹1.74 lakh crore collected in the same month last year. However, the figure was lower than May’s mop-up of ₹2.01 lakh crore and the all-time high of ₹2.37 lakh crore recorded in April 2025.

Revenues from domestic transactions grew 4.6% year-on-year to ₹1.38 lakh crore, while GST collected on imports rose 11.4% to ₹45,690 crore.

The June gross GST breakdown is as follows: Central GST at ₹34,558 crore, State GST at ₹43,268 crore, Integrated GST at ₹93,280 crore, and Compensation Cess at ₹13,491 crore.

Refunds surged 28.4% year-on-year during the month to ₹25,491 crore, resulting in a net GST revenue of around ₹1.59 lakh crore, marking a 3.3% increase compared to June 2024.
