Food credit doubles in the first two months of new financial year on robust wheat procurement

This surge in credit demand is directly linked to an upswing in wheat procurement. As per the Food Ministry, wheat procurement in the ongoing 2025–26 marketing season has risen by over 16%, touching 30.98 million tonnes—up 4.38 million tonnes from the previous year.
